Social Media Coordinator Nickelodeon Benelux (Freelance)


  • Building and executing Benelux social media/ community strategy, in order to drive KPI's through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification, based on brand guidelines;
  • Create social content calendars utilizing global and local social strategies for the various Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. social platforms;
  • Make use of the international content pipeline, but also be able to manage engaging local content creation;
  • Write fun and engaging social copy for our socials platforms such as Facebook and Instagram putting kids first and correctly using hashtags;
  • Publish all social posts according to content calendars on all platforms;
  • Act as community manager – interact with fans through Facebook and Instagram comments, monitor all comments and analyze and understand what content fans are responding to;
  • Analyze social content on a monthly basis by gathering data from our social platforms and optimizing the content strategy accordingly
  • Increase fan base and engagement on social platforms:
  • Conduct competitive and industry research to understand what works well on each channel.
  • Understand, through research and platform insights, your current and target audience, catering all content to their behavior.
  • Ideate creative social campaigns using competitive and industry data and monthly owned social reports;
  • First point of contact social related matters for Benelux team and Sales Partners (Branded Partnership projects);
  • Coordination agencies and/or freelancers;
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Consumer Products, PR, Programming, Productions etc. in order to support our shows via engaging campaigns on our social platforms;
  • Communicate regularly with Nickelodeon International Headquarters social media manager.


We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and creative person, who has a hands-on mentality, knows how to work independently and has the following qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably Design or Communication related.
  • 1-2 years experience within the social media field, internships considered
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, File Hosting Services)
  • Ability to think kid-first and contribute to creating a digital experience which children(and their parents!) will love!
  • Have affinity with the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. brands and the shows that can be watched through these channels
  • Have experience executing 360 marketing campaigns for entertainment
  • Experience with social asset ideation and creationNeeds prior experience writing social copy, creating social content calendars and strategizing paid social campaigns
  • Superior written communications skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills requiredAbility to multi-task, rearrange priorities as needed and work well under pressure
  • Strong passion for television as it relates to the digital/social space
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues or information
  • Skilled Photoshop user. Knowledge of Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects a plus.
